Credentials

Qualified, supervised, accountable.

Before you tell a stranger anything, it's reasonable to want to know who they are and what they've earned. Here's exactly where our counsellors stand — stated plainly, with nothing rounded up.

Training and qualifications

The qualification is the starting point, not the whole story. Here's all of it.

A three-year degree in counselling / psychotherapy

Both counsellors have completed a three-year degree in counselling / psychotherapy — the full length of training, not a short course.

Registered with the BACP

Both are registered members of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, bound by its Ethical Framework and open to its complaints procedure.

Supervised every month

Every counsellor's work is reviewed in monthly supervision with a senior practitioner — the standard that keeps practice safe, not just the qualification on the wall.

Enhanced DBS checked and insured

Every counsellor holds an enhanced DBS background check, renewed regularly, and carries professional indemnity insurance.

Experience so far

We'd rather give you a real number than a vague one. These are the logged clinical hours each counsellor has behind them.

Annabelle Akdemir

More than 100 hours of clinical experience

Trauma, recovery and mental health difficulties

Annabelle supports people through many different kinds of trauma, recovery and mental health difficulties, and works at a pace that feels safe and manageable for each person.

Alisha Lewis

More than 35 hours of clinical work

A range of concerns, face to face and telephone

Alisha works with a range of concerns and draws on a variety of counselling approaches and techniques, tailoring each session to the individual.

What accountability actually means

Registration isn't a badge we show once. It's a set of obligations we're held to every week.

  • Confidentiality, explained before you start

You'll be told how confidentiality works and where its limits sit before your first session — not discovered halfway through.

  • An independent route if something goes wrong

Because our counsellors are BACP registered, you can raise a complaint with an independent body rather than having to take it up with us alone.

  • Honest about fit

If we're not the right counsellor for you, we'll say so and help you find someone who is. The relationship matters more than the sale.

What we don't claim

  • We are counsellors, not psychiatrists — we don't prescribe medication. For that, your GP is the right first step.
  • We don't promise a cure, or a fixed number of sessions. Some people need a handful, others need longer.
  • We don't publish client testimonials. What we can show you is training, registration, supervision and a free first conversation.

Judge us on a conversation

Credentials only tell you so much. The free first conversation exists so you can hear how we listen before deciding anything.
