A calm, plant-filled counselling room with two comfortable armchairs

About us

People, not processes.

Aura Counselling Partners is a small, deliberately personal practice. Get to know the people you'd actually be talking to — because the research is clear that who sits across from you matters more than any method they use.

Our story

Built around a single belief

Aura began with a frustration its founders knew well: the therapy waiting list. People summon the courage to ask for help, are told to come back in four months, and by then the moment has passed. We exist to make sure that reaching out is met with a human response within days, not seasons.

The second frustration was subtler but just as common — the feeling of being processed. Matched by an algorithm, passed between departments, asked to complete forms that felt like they were written for someone else. We built Aura around the opposite promise: the person who answers your first enquiry may well be the person across from you in session.

We stay small on purpose. Every counsellor is chosen personally, supervised rigorously, and given the time to work properly — no back-to-back days, no quotas. It means we can't take everyone, and we'll always tell you honestly if someone else would serve you better.

What we hold to

  • Warmth before process

You are a person who is struggling, not a case to be managed. Warmth comes first; everything else follows.

  • Rigour behind the warmth

Every counsellor is fully qualified, supervised monthly, and registered with a recognised professional body.

  • The right fit matters

The research is clear: the relationship itself does much of the healing. We match carefully and say so honestly if we're not the right fit.
